Single pool in this context means that there are not two separate ratings databases - one containing Open players and one containing Intermediate players, where a player who switches between divisions would be entered into both databases. It means one list of players and producing stats combining play in all skill levels. Categorization of events by skill level would then enable the future ability to filter, etc. by skill-division.
