Hardly anyone uses it the way you are suggesting. For example suppose one is playing a money game and reaches a position that has cubeless win chance of 79%. Instead of saying this "79% race is a double and close pass" you would need to say instead "this 100% race is a double and close pass". The first way seems much more useful. It was not bots that led to that usage, it was used long before.
