Thanks for the link to Michael's article, Chase. An 18.75% takepoint assumes no gammons by either side and that your potential redouble is fully efficient and unre-redoublable. One checker each on the six point is a double and take, although the taker wins only 18.75%.

Assumming gammons and no redoubles, you can take with 16.66% GWC -- one game in six, if your opponent wins no gammons and your one win is a gammon (on a 2-cube, you lose 5 * 2 points and win 1 * 4 points for a loss of 6 points, the same as dropping 6 cubes).

Assuming gammons and redoubles -- does there exist a position that is a take with less than 16.66% GWC? My guess is no. All (or nearly all) your wins would need to be gammons and all (or nearly all) your doubles would need to be perfectly efficient. I'll say such a position does not exist, if only to encourage a BGO reader to immediately construct one.
