Terminology

(of course it depends what you think the problem is)

When discussing terms like move, turn or move number, the problem is, that the second roll of the game, would be noted as move number 1 or move number 2 depending on which player won the opening roll of the first game in the match!

It's no big deal, but people reading the match example I put in would refer to the moves like they are numbered (I think). People standing by the board, watching the game, would talk about it like the 2nd example I showed.

I just wanted to point out, that there are several complexities to the terms when used in backgammon that you do not have in chess, why simply "adopting" the chess terms could be - well - confusing...
