I think it's a must to hit on the 4 point, even though it strips the 8 point. White has started a good point, and we want to take it away AND start a good point for ourselves. That leaves three reasonable 3's: 24/21, 13/10, and 4/1*.

I'm going to reject 24/21 as being unproductive. Once hitting, we are a bit committed on that path. 13/10 unstacks and brings a builder to bear on our now slotted four point, whereas 4/1* just commits us entirely to an attack.

If we play 13/10 8/4*, the blot on the 4 pt is hit 21 times, but when we are missed, we rate strongly to make that good forward point (I didn't count).

Even though 4/1* puts another check on the roof, I don't like picking up the blot that's in a good slotted location to hit again on the ace.

Looks like I've talked myself into 13/10 8/4*
