The subthread you posted that under refers to Chase's 3-ply rollout.

I assume that you mean that your 4-ply rollout of 21$-54 [S R9] 12960 trials has narrowed to [S R5] after 16000+ trials.

It is worth noting that the 3000+ trials that you just added were about [R S13] in order to reduce the average from [S R9] to [S R5]. This supports the admonitions that I, and Stick (and maybe others), and more recently Tim, have made about variance. Beware worshiping rollouts with only a few thousand trials, or in erroneously believing that a margin of an early game rollout is definitely nailed within a few thousandths after 15-20k.
