I see a few problems. Perhaphs you could clarify them.
You said in the openeing e-mail that 32: 13/10 13/11 = 32TE
So if we just saw 32TE, which would it be... 13/10 13/11 or 14/11 12/10 ???
If there are numerous ways to move the checkers from various points to arrive at the final position, how would you notate this.
The vast majority of the time recording only the destination points will be unambiguous. In the above example you'd have to have checkers on your 14, 13, and 12 (your opponent's midpoint) for there to be confusion. However, your point is well taken, as these situations are bound to come up from time to time. When they do, I'd simply revert to the practice of including starting points. 32U-TU-E would do the job. Perhaps others will suggest something better. My feeling is that since DASH is designed primarily for personal use, whatever will be clear to you in an exceptional situation is probably best, even if that means reverting to traditional notation for one move.
What is the notation for a 12T from the 13 point ?? Is it 13/12* 12/10 or 13/11 11/10 ?? How do you notate for hitting/not hitting when there is a choice ??
It's best to avoid contractions if their meaning is ambiguous. I'd use 21DT for 13/12* 12/10 and 21ET for 13/11 11/10.
Good questions. Thanks for asking them.
