I look first at the obvious play, 13/7 10/7. Feh. The problem with that play seems to be that it really doesn't seem to require White to do anything! Even if White does nothing at all and Blue continues by making the 5 and 4 points, White will still have a fine well-timed 2-3 backgame.
So then I look at alternatives. 13/10 13/7 is possible. This starts the bar point, strips the midpoint and puts a spare on the 10. The spares would seem to be a trade-off but now if White hits, I don't think I want a stripped midpoint against a potential barpoint game. If White doesn't hit, I suppose Blue will go ahead and make the bar point, and then other points -- but that's a strategy I already rejected when looking at 13/7 10/7.
13/7 8/5 is possible. I don't care for this play. White would be happy to hit twice -- he's got the start of an outfield prime of sorts -- and Blue would be left with nothing.
13/4 is possible. Now if White doesn't hit I'll be happy to make the 4 point. That will free up the 10 point checkers which will no longer be part of the priming plan. If White hits, there goes his 2-3 game, Blue has decent spare distribution for making points and attacking, and Blue has only given up 12 pips (or 20, if you prefer) so he still leads the race handily.
13/4, frankly, doesn't seem to accomplish much, so now I reconsider 13/7 10/7. But I still don't think that's the right idea, so I'll go with 13/4 and wait'n'see what happens.
