(About 6 months ago I decided I was going to play 3-point matches every day until I understood them thoroughly. Maybe I'll get back to that some day. [sigh])

I agree that 3-pointers are good drill work. So is, I think, playing only up to the initial double, analyze, repeat, repeat, repeat. Keep a reference of openings handy, though, since neither bot plays openings perfectly (whatever perfect may turn out to be). So is, I think, concentrating from time to time on any serious identified weaknesses.
