I'm not at all confident of my Take. The doubling cube has become by far the weakest part of my game. You need to make use of your memory for cube handling -- memorizing lots of reference positions. I haven't done that and until I do I'm going to be stuck in the also-ran rut.

I decided that Stick's lack of attacking threats, his 1 1/2 checkers back, and our 5-point gave us a Take. OTOH, if you think about the games we are likely to get into, for the most part the best games are 22-point holding games. Unless we make that immediately (before Stick gets his back checkers around) those are only Takes if Stick fails to make the 9-point or 7-point. I.e. if he makes EITHER of those points we are in trouble.

On the downside, we may have a problem anchoring (or even entering) in which case we'll be totally screwed.

If I had my vote over I think I would pass this.
