I've said it before and now I'm saying it again, ppl wait too long to cube backgames. I think this is one such scenario and I say it's a double and will await the rollout to bask in my glory. (if I happen to be wrong I'll delete this post, one of the luxuries being webmaster affords)

There are also almost always market losing sequences in backgames. This doesn't mean you should cube first opportunity of course, but always be aware of how fragile your opponent's position really is.

Here, your opponent's checker on his ace point is very weak along with having no immediate spare ready to hop. If he's forced to run off of one of his front anchors you'll likely pound whatever point it is he runs from. Also, you have some point making numbers to make the solid 4 prime for a turn or two or a broken 4 prime which will still cause a fair amount of problems.

Lastly, if I'm White here I'm much happier if my opponent rolls than doubles, to me that closes the deal. Double.
