I assume you mean 8/7* 6/1*?

Putting two on the bar may be a good play, it is certainly an aggressive one. He hits with any 1, but if he misses or even better dances (unlikely on the 2 point board) you are probably way ahead and can cover your blots with 3s, 5s, and 6s.

If we're playing Jacoby rule (I assume yes?) I'd take the aggressive play, as you aren't afraid of losing a gammon since the cube is still centered.
