Potential OT Posts

It's a bit like pulling teeth to get a more than the regular crowd to respond but regulars and not regulars alike feel free to speak up if you'd find anything interesting. I've got a lot of potential off topic posts in my head but they're often a lot of work so if nobody really cares to see them and would rather keep it strictly bg then I won't bother. In no particular order are any of these of interest? How about anything else you can think of?

• Sports. Maybe a comparison a week like MJ v. LeBron or why Fed is still the GOAT or maybe just coverage of one athlete in depth for anyone who wants to read it? I'd try to make it a lot more than just a still from the wiki page including the best videos I could find, stories, photos, etc...


• Random backgammon tidbits. There are a lot of things I do just to know even though it may not be useful at all to anyone ever. I generally keep it to myself as I see it as fun but trash but who knows, maybe other people want to know how to play the replies to opening roll doubles or one better, how to play the opening replies to opening doubles when the opponent was only allowed to play two of the doublets instead of all four? Or what percentage of moves are non decisions for a world class player? Or what are the odds of me being ahead on the scoresheet v. XG after 10 games? After 20? After 50?


• Music/Musicians. Much like the sports idea except I cover an artist or two a week. I love music and listen to almost everything from country (I grew up in small town Ohio, deal with it) to death metal. We could take requests for future artists to feature or leave me to my vices and you get a list of the best one hit wonders or 90s bands that have been forgotten.



I'm still delusional and am trying to get some traffic going again here at BGO. I know fixing technical issues would also help (the cookie issue is on my list but I'm so damn lazy when it comes to stuff like that) but figured so OT posts might too. I'm going to attempt to drag some people from FB to here by linking. I did it last week with a post and it got almost 200 views. I thought once people looked at that post they might take a gander at other posts but it seems like I might need to spell out that that's an option. It would also be good if there was some activity here when they clicked over.
