Help settle this bet

i) Small monthly tournament with $10 entry.

ii) 16 players entered

iii) Winner of first round game goes into winners bracket and loser of first round game goes into losers bracket.

iv) From there it is an elimination, get two matches guaranteed but not two losses.

v) Prize money was $65 for winner of winner's bracket, $35 for runnerup in winner's bracket, and $30 for winner of loser's bracket. I think it was 100% return except a new player gets a free entry to the first tournament and just happened to be 3 doing that.

vi) For yearly points race is 12, 7, 5, 3 for winner of winners, runnerup of winners, winner of loser's, runnerup of losers. Additionally +1 point for every match won.

vii) Players A and B had a bet "$1 for who goes the furthest"

viii) Player A won first two games then lost. Player B lost first game but then cashed by winning 3 games in a row.

Who should win the bet? Vote please for A wins, B wins, or Void the bet.
