Help with equity

I think all of us here have a good understanding of equity, at least for unlimited/money play and probably also for EMG in match play.

I'm working on editing some of the backgammon material on Wikipedia and there's no mention of equity in any of the articles, nor is there some other article that discusses the concept of equity in various other games. It is, however, mentioned on the poker strategy page, but that's specific to poker.

Now, I'm perfectly capable of writing something, but to put it up on Wikipedia I need some reliable source to cite and I'm not finding one. Anybody got a pointer to a book or magazine article or other reliable source that covers it? Ideally, it would be a general discussion of equity in gaming since I'd like to create an article about that and include backgammon as an example.

For reference, here's what Wikipedia has to say about equity now.
