Big difference from a lonely ace

eXtreme Gammon Version: 2.10

I struggle with these problems. I played 20/15 to get a checker out of the attack zone, and then looked for an ace... and I picked wrong. The difference is larger than I expected (55 mp). What should I be looking for?
