It sounds like you want to remove all "playing the opponent" considerations

I do, actually... because I believe my "playing the opponent" tricks have been hurting me. I think I'm not doing them right. I go overboard, for example, dropping perfectly takeable cubes against players that are much weaker than me.

These skill adjustments have been counterproductive... so my conclusion is that I'm not smart enough in this area of the game, and for now, I've given up on it. I'm just trying to find the best play against a perfect opponent.
