rotation order in a chouette with partners

Assume a chouette with 6 players total. It is not a "last man standing chouette", meaning the box must only defend his box against the captain. We want to play 2 against 4, so the box must have a partner all the time.
Players roll for the box and let's enummerate the order of players from 1 to 6.
Question A) Player 1 is obviously the box. Who is his partner? Is it player 2 or is it player 6 at the end of the line? Or?
Question B) Assumming the box and his partner win, does the box keep his partner or does the captain who just lost become the new partner?
Question C) In case the box keeps the same partner untill the box is lost, what happens when it is actually the partners turn to play as captain according to the original playing order?

Any other thoughts and suggestions are very welcome. Thank You.
