Role and responsibilities of TDAC?

The TDAC doesn’t have any roll in scheduling of tournaments.
The TDAC stands for Tournament Directors Advisory Committee. It is made up of ABT directors ( or organizers) and advises the USBGF on topics that may have an impact to the ABT tournaments. The USBGF brings forth subjects for discussion, this could be anything ranging from a new proposed policy to materials such as a handbook. When a new tournament applies for ABT status, we are part of that process too. The TDAC reviews their application and provides feedback to help make their tournament a success. The USBGF makes the final decision in all these matters, but experientially, does consider the feelings of the TDAC.
Personally, I am involved in TDAC because I want to grow the game. I am especially vocal about any policy that could limit that growth. And especially enthusiastic about measures to bring in new players and promote the game. I am also involved in the USBGF in a marketing capacity, specifically social media. Michael and I work on local growth in the Twin Cities with social media and putting on newcomer friendly events. I walked into my first BG club only four years ago - and this year will be our third tournament. So, I am not so far removed to remember the experience of an incoming player and TD. We have had some fresh new tournaments on the circuit, but IMO as a community need to do more to attract new players.
