Would you "really dislike the rule of resetting the clock for cocked dice" if it ultimately saved you or your opponent from timing out? Personally, I would really dislike to win or lose a match in this way (to put it mildly).

I must refer you first to the current UKBGF/EUBGF rule:

4.3 Game clocks

(v) INVALID ROLLS -

Notwithstanding anything to the contrary herein, where an invalid roll occurs and in order not to adversely prejudice the player on roll, either player may pause the clock and/or restart the delay time as he reasonably deems appropriate. Where there is disagreement as to the validity of the roll, the clock may be paused by either player until the disagreement is resolved.

It is a new innovation, and the rule can be flexibly interpreted at present. I believe that new UKBGF Rules are likely to be released soon. If so, I have no idea whether this one will be changed in any way, or even removed. (I guess you might prefer the latter.)

UKBGF treasurer and Rules committee member Peter Bennet stated quite recently:

"When it is agreed (or obvious) that my opponent's dice are cocked I simply double punch the clock. This has cost him no time, and restores the situation exactly to how things were at the end of my turn, i.e his delay time has been started and he needs to pick up the dice."

He seems happy to hit both clocks, but the roller himself could do this, or one each. As long as it is agreed that dice are cocked I'm not sure it matters.
