Jeb,

Neither of the positions shown on my web page show a die perched atop a single checker. I agree with you that if it were, that would be like sitting on the board, and it would easy to conclude that it's valid.

Problems reside when a die is lying across two checkers. That can't happen under the old rule. That probably jostled my brain, and I realized I should take a picture and ask the bgonline people.

Unfortunately, you declared that the first position was cocked and the second was not-cocked ... apparently purely based on the angle. The first was probably 20 degrees. The second looked flat, but actually it had a tiny tilt ... probably 1 degree. You can't discern the 1 degree from the pictures.
