I dislike the rule because an upside may not even exist.

The arguments of "We used it, it works fine!" smell of refried crap to me. We didn't play with clocks in my tournament, no problems there! My parents hit me and look how I turned out, must work!

I don't want to get into it again because I'm very busy. I have to go reteach my entire family that dice on top of checkers count now, as long as they're flat. Maybe in another few years we can switch something else of a similar fashion, dice flat anywhere on the board might as well count right?!
