For those that don't know, this afternoon Jorgen Granstedt is trying to equal Tim Holland's record of winning the World Championship three times, and to become the first player to win the Monte Carlo staged event three times.

Joe Russell is therefore trying to equal Jorgen's record, held jointly with Bill Robertie and Michael Meyburg, of two MC World titles, and also equal Jorgen's achievement of winning the World Championship in different millennia. (Good luck to anyone trying to beat that record!)

The winner of this years final will set a record for the greatest span of World titles, currently held by Meyburg at 7 years.
