Naturally, this thread has descended into a kangaroo court where nobody has all the details or information. May I recommend the following:

1. This player achieved an excellent rating in a BG application that is flawed in several ways

2. We all refrain from judgments about the player

3. We merely accept that there is a question mark over ability, or technical play in a more controlled environment

While many of you may have strong opinions, the only one who truly knows all the details is in fact Brian, so lets just accept that he is aware, and he can choose to discuss further if he so desires. I, personally, would counsel against it.
