Other games that I play

Chess - legal moves with a time penalty for an illegal move. There may be some minor variations on this. I'm not sure.
Othello - legal moves. However, illegal moves are often missed by both players. The illegal move is usually forgetting to flip a disk or flipping a disk which should not be changed.
Go - With minor exceptions related to ko, there are no illegal moves. You can play anywhere.
Shogi - forfeiture of the game. This actually happens with more frequency that you would guess. The principle example of this is called nifu. That means two pawns. You can't have two unpromoted pawns in the same column. Players can forget this and place a second pawn in the column by mistake.
