ruling on premature cubing

Is it not also possible that cubing during the opponents clock time could distract him, and require him to use some more of that time? There should be some sanction for that IMHO.

For cubing out of turn, certainly if the match is clocked, the player should lose the right, next turn, to decide for himself whether he will double; it should be put in the hands of the opponent. In this way, the player will soon learn to do things in the right time frame, just as he would with rolling the dice out of turn.
