Rule changes

In Response To: Rule changes (Steven E. Carey)

It's good to have new ideas coming forward but I can see two objections to any rule changes, not just to the ones you proposed:

Currently we have a set of internationally accepted rules that a have been adopted by all(?) federations. It would need ratification by all of them before change could be accepted.

All the main computer programs play the same current rules. Change the rules and all the code will have to be updated, and more importantly for our community, they will have to be learn the best moves. That's a lot of learning for XG GNUBG and co.
