position of cube during Crawford game

Phil -- It seems to me with the Crawford doubling cube issue you have symmetrical opportunities for error: if you don't remove the cube for the Crawford game, someone (or both) players might forget it's the Crawford game; if you do remove it and forget to replace it, one or both players might forget it's back in play.
Since there's only a Post-Crawford game about 50% of the time, and you'd only forget to replace the cube a small fraction of time, and your opponent would only forget to double anyway a smaller fraction yet, it would still seem appropriate to coach your beginners to remove the cube, as that should discourage an improper double in *all* Crawford games.
I might be inclined to coach them to make some physical marker of the Crawford game -- on a flip-score board, or paper score sheet, by removing the cube, or both.
