Ethics

I've had situations like this. Gambling etiquette is pretty clear that if you are not an active participant you should stay out of their game while they are playing.
Having said that...
Once the session is over you can say what you want. You put "friend" in quotation marks. If he's a real friend, you may not want to knock the action. There's a good chance the rich guy's ego will prevent him from hearing what you are trying to tell him. T/f you run the risk of having everybody pissed at you for trying to do the right thing.
If your "friend" is really more like an associate, and they are playing regularly in a public place, you can certainly ask Mr. BIG to set up a match for yourself. Unless the game is at your friend's house, he doesn't any right to keep the guy to himself. Your friend won't probably like that much, but it sounds like he's a bit of a a-hole anyway. Besides that, if your friend treated the rich guy with respect, he wouldn't have to worry about the prospect of having to share.
So there's your solution. The ethical thing to do is show your "friend" how to properly respect a lesser opponent while he watches you win all the cash he threw away because he doesn't know how to treat people. Yours is a dilemma I would love to have. :)
