By that, I mean, the great majority of wins go to the player with the 'luck advantage'.

This phenomenon is discussed at various points. While it is true, it does not mean that luck is the overwhelming factor in the outcome of a match. The short answer is: The better player needs indeed also more luck to win, but "less more". Thus, she is more often that little bit luckier she needs to be, than the worse player is much luckier.
