It seems like about 1 in 8 players cashing should be the max, but about 10% seems right.

In that light it would seem that 4 of 34 should have cashed but it was 5. One in eight would be 4.X So that is okay. A DE format makes for a third place finisher, (the loser of the one loss final to decide the finalist).

This adds a place to the normal distribution, and can even provide 4th and 5th places in bigger DE events like LA sometimes.

I don't know if you can pay two places in an 8 player field, but that is how many of the modern day $500 JPs are going because it is hard to get more entrants at that price. This is why I think entry fees for all events should be lower, more on that from me in March @ CSI.
