In Response To: Best BG Tournament in US--My usual diplomatic response (Christian Munk-Christensen)

Christian: There are several great tournaments every year in the USA and if you can only attend one, then you should choose the American city which you would be most interested in seeing.

The closest American large city to Europe (and the cheapest flight from Europe) in which a tournament is held is Lynn's fantastic tournament in New Jersey, just across the Hudson River from New York City, which I and many others consider to be the USA's greatest city. However, there are also other great American cities in which outstanding tournaments are held.

Las Vegas is a unique place with never-ending entertainment possibilities. Many people fly across an ocean (and also a continent) to spend a week in Vegas and never see any other part of the USA. If you go to Vegas, be sure to get a window seat so you can view the Grand Canyon en route. One of the greatest experiences of my life was a ride in a private jet, with only three passengers, from Vegas to the east coast, when the pilots let me see the 180-degree view of the Grand Canyon from the cockpit.

Let me know in advance when you plan to visit the USA and I will make a special effort to play in the tournament you choose so that I can meet you in person.
