You are very correct to be confused as seeded players usually get spread out or given bye preference on a draw sheet.

In a Calcutta we probably should call them something other than seeded--maybe "top ranked". Or something like that.

As for how they are selected and whether that designation means anything relative to eligibility: the selection is entirely at the whim of the tournament director and there is no revels cacti eligibility or draw. All ABT draws are random to my knowledge.

Yes, you will certainly see the tournament director give Calcutta preference based on the Giants list and we all know that is not necessarily the best players in the tournament for many reasons, but when you go with that list no one can feel slighted or blame the director if they don't agree.

As for my being a jerk, since you know me personally, you are either kidding or you are correct or both but I do appreciate the humor and I love it.
