There is still the aftermath of not only the potential safety but burying the other team so deep on field position even if there's no safety if you stop them after a first down or two you'll receive great field position the next time you get the ball.

I think these aspects are too often overlooked in the goal line situation. Yeah, it sucks when you don't get the touchdown, but there are some real compensations.
