Headphones in Backgammon?

Noise canceling headphones can be a real joy amid the click and clatter of a crowded and noisy tournament hall. This is true, even when they are not connected to a music player. I know this, because a friend demonstrated it to me at one of Chiva's tournaments a couple of years ago.
It seems obvious, however, that sooner or later someone will use headphones to cheat. The details of how this might be carried out are not precisely clear. They could involve fancy electronic signaling of some kind, or they might be as simple as having a "song" that was a recitation of cube take points or other useful info.
Now that we have live streaming, a co-conspirator might enter a position into a bot, and signal the computer's recommendation back via headphones.
