In Response To: Some things to consider *long* (Barry Silliman)

Where I said where the players like Ray and Iancho and Maya and David who just want to play backgammon against human beings and try to actually win a match

I think I meant Leonardo instead of Iancho, but if Iancho would like to remain on this list, he is certainly welcome.

Putting aside the heavy sarcasm of my original post, I'm glad that two-time U.S. Open Champion Mary Hickey agrees with most of my points, although I'm sure she would have made them much more politely than I did.

I don't have any objections to a PR-based system at a theoretical level, but there are some real practical concerns that need to be thought out.

The crux of the matter to me is that as long as we agree that winning strategy against humans is not always optimal PR strategy against XG, then the accumulation of PR-based goals should be separated from the usual tournament events, not bolted on top of it.

I realize a goal of the grading is to increase participation among the masses, so here is my idea to get "Joe Six-Pack" involved..... call it the PBR tour (for PR Bragging Rights) :-)
