You bring up a good point about a use for this list--prevention of sandbagging, which hurts the true Advanced and Intermediate players and perhaps discourages some of them from playing more events. While I still like the idea of letting someone win an Advanced tournament before kicking them upstairs, a lot of cashes combined with an "Expert" or whatever PR rating, plus perhaps some complaints from other players, could make it easy for a director to use "director's discretion" to kick some of those players up a floor, without people second-guessing it.

What I haven't liked in this discussion thread is the prospect of directors being expected to work out PRs for players, hire staff to do it, or even be expected to co-ordinate the effort. Directors have enough to do. If this ranking system turns out to be less than universal, I'm not going to worry about it. I'd rather there be an extra side event or two, than have the director messing with more recording and tabulating than he or she has to do already.
