OT: Am I the only one here who thinks poker is almost all pure luck?

One thing that must be taken into account that has not been mentioned thus far:

When the bet gets high, people get emotional. When they do some people go blind and make mistakes they might not make in lower stake games. I have seen people make horrible decisions in BG in @ DMP on Youtube when they have XG running, they are rattling for the $$$. I know pool players who play great for $100/game and can't make a ball for $500/came. This happens in poker.

Players who get rattled or tilt etc. Call it what you like are not as skilled as the players who can keep their composure. I have seen many people lose when they should win, only to lose because their mind plays tricks on them. I like to raise the bet and prey on that weakness.

thats not a quantifiable factor in poker, BG, pool, or tic-tac-toe but it exists. Bet a million $$$'s and some people will F up a tic-tac-toe game. Human nature. Managing emotions is a skill. Getting seasoned to handle pressure is a skill, we all handle it differently. Some can some can't.

Just like I can't do the math you can do, yet I can remember more phone numbers than 99.99999%, +/-0.008734% of the general population.
