Even more insightful ... would ... be ... to create caricatures of certain styles of weak play. Then it would be interesting to see how different the shark strategy is from perfect play.

Yes, this could be interesting. Here's an example. Suppose you encountered UltraStick, a player who always makes the DMP play. [By this, I mean that in calculating the tables for "perfect play" UltraStick errs in assigning +1 to all wins (even gammons) and -1 to all losses (even gammons).]

There are several possibilities to consider.

(1) Both players are oblivious of UltraStick's proclivity.

(2) PerfectPlayer knows that UltraStick always makes the DMP play and adapts his strategy to exploit this weakness.

(3) For either of the cases above, UltraStick believes PerfectPlayer has a weakness because he is not playing according to what UltraStick thinks is correct and so UltraStick adapts his play to account for that. (Will this help or hurt UltraStick's results?)
