That reminds me of Robertie, who wrote some like that bad players do more tend to have muddled thoughts than any systematic bias. Or not so much a misconception of the game as no conception of the game.

Perhaps it would be possible to create some consistent errors and some inconsistent errors in the weak strategy. For example, always hit (consistent) and cube decisions based on actual equity plus a stochastic error term with mean zero (inconsistent).

Then it could be possible to see how weak strategies could be exploited depending on the type of errors.

Maybe start this with the one-checker or two checker game, because that would be less work.
