In Response To: Early 42 to play (Ian Dunstan)

Don't split after opponent's early 55. Some of the same ideas apply after 66--you have a significant race deficit, and opponent already has ten checkers to attack with. Against that, White's forward structure is better than in the 55 case, and White has already formed an advanced anchor.

I would just make the four point here. The more flexible unstacking play 13/9 6/4 might be better.
