You make it sound like Tim said confidence intervals aren't useful. I don't know why one would come up with that from Tim pointing out a common misinterpretation of them.

I agree with his comments on confidence intervals. I was addressing his comments on the "probability of being best" numbers.

TC:  [Probability of being best] is how people tend to think of those numbers, but that's not what they are, strictly speaking ... the only thing that percentage gives you information about is whether the plays differ in equity

TC:  having the computer reassure us that it's very sure that the plays are not exactly equally good is not telling us much
