I think the score matters here. Blue's gammon value is 1, or twice the normal value, so gammon wins are particularly valuable.

But white's gammon value is also elevated - it's .7, so blue wants to avoid being gammoned. Making the bar point anchor greatly reduces the gammon rate, so it's likely to be best here. Then 13/10 looks much better than the passive 11/8.

At a level score I'd simply make my five point. Maybe that's right here too, but I'll make the bar anchor. If things go badly, most likely the worst is a single point loss to make it 2a 2a. If things go well, I get to Crawford.
