There are two reasons why hitting is more correct after 64S compared to 63S and 62S. First the opponent is better poised to make a good point so the tempo is more important. Secondly the two opposing blots are exactly 6 away after 64S 52X. This will force opponent to have to do something with it or give us a direct 6.
I don't see why there would be a big difference if it is 62S or 63S. Maybe 53 being duplicated after 63S 52S is a small factor.
