This one surprised me.

In retrospect, I now see that White’s anchoring rolls (54, 43, and 32) are all duplicated when Blue plays B = 24/20*/16. Furthermore, even if White hits one of Blue’s runners, Blue will often be able to enter and safety the other. That circumstance is not much worse than what Blue gets now when he plays Z = 24/20*, 15/11, 13/9(2).

Of course, when White fails to hit, Blue will have a good chance to safety both of his runners. With luck, a cube turn will soon follow.

Is there anything more than that going on?
