21S-21 d[S U1 $1] "<31
21S-21 g[$ S8] "<31

41S-21 d[$ S5 W5] "<31
41S-21 g[$ S10] "<31

51S-21 d[$ U13 S19] "<20*15
51S-21 g[$ D25 U34 S38] "<15*10 5

52S-21 d[$ S2 H5] "<31
52S-21 g[$ H7 S16] "<31*20

1. Why is slotting even on the radar for 21 reply against a minor split?

At DMP, opening 21$, which leaves 15 shots, is best by .012 (not shown). As a DMP reply to 21S, 41S and 51S, 21$ leaves 9 additional shots but with more duplication involved, and is best by .001, .005 and .013, respectively. It seems to me that it is only the third margin that might raise an eyebrow.

2. Why is slotting best against 41S and 51S, while it is very close to splitting against 21S and 52S at DMP?

A good question that deserves a longer answer. I'll come back to it later if I can. Unfortunately, I'm up against some deadlines and don't know when I'll even be able to follow up to my own posts (some are left hanging).
