Hawk has gone on record to say that Rodney Mullen was the greatest Skater he ever saw. Most of Mullen's tricks are what ALL skaters worldwide use as a basis of the current tricks in the sport. Rodney came first in every contest he ever entered as a pro between 1980 - 1990 except his last one ( right after his Father told him he had to quit Skating ).

My answer would be Gretzky for the " The most difficult career to replicate ". He hold's or shares 61 NHL records. He would still have the record for the most career points if you eliminated all his goals. Crosby won the scoring race this year with 104 points, less than half Gretzky's career high of 215 ( along with seasons of 212, 208, 205 ).

Maybe Edwin Moses ( 1977 - 1987 won 102 consecutive finals ). Marciano 49-0

Not sure if anyone has ever been THAT much better that everyone else who has ever played the same sport.
