Biggest sports star can mean many different things to many different people. It is bizarre you expected everyone to just know what you had in mind.
Some might have thought impact beyond sports (e.g Ali) important but looks like you do not count that at all.
Being a star is sometimes more about perceived achievement than actual achievement (e.g. basketball player Kyrie Irving) but looks like you want actual achievement. Also in this regard being a star in US also is heavily dependent on the sport. Michael Phelps for example perhaps (easier to dominate a sport with strong economic barriers to entry and one in which the sheer number of events makes a medal count easier is not considered enough to me)scores highly in career achievement but few care much about swimming except for 2 weeks every 4 years.
Being a star is often about style as well as achievement. Basketball player Tim Duncan is an all time great but ranks low in things such as jersey sales for his career acheivements. Often what are moral issues to some (Tiger Woods, Barry Bonds) detract from one's level of starship.
