Taking two off leaves less shots next roll (only 56 and 33) than playing 5/4 with the one (blots on 53 and 63). Two off also wins more gammons. Something could be said about clearing the back points as quickly as possible, making 5/4 better in the long run. I don't think the long run will outweigh the immediate reasons for taking two off, though.
