Using Character Map to enter a Pound sign

The Character Map is one of the most under-appreciated tools in Windows.

  1. Click Start, type "charmap" and press Enter.
  2. Put a checkmark in the box for "Advanced view."
  3. Verify that the "Character set" is Unicode.
  4. Change "Group by" to "Unicode subrange."
  5. Click "Currency" in the "Group By" window.
  6. Pound sign is the third character listed.

The following keystroke shortcut works in Notepad, but not in the "Post Response" window at BgOnline. You have to copy from Notepad and paste at BGO.
